Lyndsey and Gareth's
Technicolor London Wedding

This London wedding is all about colour, fun and having a great time and Lyndsey and Gareth certainly did that. Their wedding was captured by the talented Mark Wallis and can be seen here in these stunning shots (except where stated).

The theme of their London wedding was 'Oranges and Lemons' as in the children's nursery rhyme. Their ceremony took place at Bromley Town Hall, right next door to Bow Bells pub in the East End, which is, bright orange. Her three bridesmaids wore bright orange, yellow and pink, with contrasting sashes and flowers.

Lyndsey's dress was a 1950's vintage style dress, made by the hugely talented Astral at Circa Brides. The style was 'Martha': a short dress with a sweetheart neckline, capped sleeves and lots of petticoats. '├ęp. 'p.Lyndsey said 'I knew I wanted 1950s style, I searched for an original one but had no joy. In the end my dress was exactly what I wanted, and after a bit of a false start, I got it! I didn't try on any other dresses at all as I was so sure of the style I wanted, I just had to find it. The Martha was perfect.' Lyndsey's shoes were from Dune and she opted for no jewellery or headwear.

Gareth's suit had a vintage feel to it too. It was an incredible two tone purple suit in a mohair wool blend from Adam of London. He looked incredible.

The bridesmaids wore tea length strapless iridescent taffeta dresses in bright pink, yellow and orange with contrasting sashes. The dresses were from Dessy, style 6561. She also had a cute little flower girl too.

Their reception was held in The Distillers, a gastropub opposite Smithfields Market in Farringdon. The venue has a great outdoor space, incredible food and a mezzanine level so all the guests could see the top table.

The tables were decorated with pink, orange and yellow votives dotted everywhere. Jam jars and small square vases were dotted down all the tables with hand tied blooms of roses which we bought in bulk and did ourselves (well, her mum and my sister). Lyndsey insisted on having a mirror ball hanging from the ceiling for their first dance. She says 'You can't dance to The Marvelettes 'When You're Young and in Love" without one!'

Their favours were little jars of homemade orange marmalade with whisky and lemon marmalade, all lovingly made by Lyndsey and her mum. They covered the jars in vintage fabric from John Lewis and attached a luggage label with their names and the date of the wedding. There were lots of children at the wedding too, so not forgetting the little ones, Lyndsey ensure they were occupied with entertainment from Event Smiles who supplied toys, puzzles and games.

Lyndsey's flowers were coloured roses and all were supplied by TUFF. Lyndsey assures me they did a stellar job and would highly recommend them.

Before dinner, the guests were entertained by the hugely talented Sav the Deceptionist and during dinner, they were serenaded by Chris Vinante who sings Rat Pack classics at one of Lyndsey and Gareths favourite haunts. After dinner, they hit the dance floor to Party Down.

Lyndsey says 'We wanted our London wedding to be fun and a celebration of all the things we love, as far removed from a stuffy affair as possible. Everywhere I looked I saw laughter and smiles which was what I'd hoped for. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves.'

A big thank you to Mark Wallis, who as Lyndsey says 'he did such an outstanding job of photographing our London wedding, I can be transported back to the day every time I look at the photos and that is something to be treasured'.
