Far too often I see too many glitzy glass beads as wedding accessories. It's just not my thing, and for me these little glass or crystal beads just shouts 1990s.
Why is it, 20 years on, we see so many of these trinkets grace the pages of the magazines and the bridal shows? Are they really that popular still?
There are loads of fantastic accessories for your special day about today, especially with the likes of Etsy, Folksy and Wedzu showcasing the latest bespoke designs of talented designers.
These craft stores where individuals and small businesses can sell their wares, means the global marketplace just entered my front room (that is where I surf the wonderweb). There really is no excuse to have to resort to those glass beads for your accessories, unless of course you really like them.
From customised embellishments for shoes to bespoke lines of jewellery, there are plenty of ways to really stand out and make a statement. You've just got to have the imagination or the time to go through the pages and pages of ideas that the likes of Etsy throw at you. Simply pick a theme and search, you'll find plenty to tickle your taste buds.
For me though, there are few that stand out from the crowd. Whether British designers or favourites on Etsy, here you'll find a selection of my favourites.
