If you had your Wedding Again
What Would You Do Differently?

If you could have your wedding again, would you change anything?

They say hindsight's twenty-twenty. It's definitely true when you get married! Of course, at the end of my wedding I was married to my best friend, so I don't have any major regrets. I had a fantastic day and enjoyed every minute of it.

Given the chance to do it again and there are definitely a few things I would have changed, though.

One thing I would have done differently was to hire a professional photographer. I had a couple of friends take the photographs, both qualified photographers, and the results were really good, but had I used a professional, I think the results would have been different.

Going back five years though and the style of wedding photography was quite different than it is today. There's far more choice and much more opportunity to have some fun, be artistic or get a reportage look.

I probably would have spent more on my wedding dress as well. I loved my short wedding dress and with my hefty budget constraints, I couldn't really spend any more than the £225 I did spend.

I would, however, have got it taken in a little bit. It ended up wrinkling in some of the photos (also probably due to my poor posture) and so it could have been taken in a little. For the sake of £30, it would have made all the difference. It wasn't a cost issue, more that I didn't think it really needed it, so I left it as it was.

I also would have changed my attitude. I was so nervous going up the aisle that my husband-to-be thought I was going to cry! I almost was, not for fear, but for nerves and as such I pretty much ran up the aisle. If I had my wedding again, I'd be so relaxed, after all there's nothing to be nervous about!

Wedding Again

When I speak to my other married friends, there's always something that you want to change about your wedding. Fashions change, styles change and different ideas come and go.

Funnily enough, it's not these things that they want to change, and it's not the fundamental things about the day that they want to change either, which often surprises me. It's actually the set up or the way things ran, or simple things like dresses getting fitted properly.

What's more important though, is that no one has wanted to change their husband yet!
